If your birth plan changes
You’ve thought about your birth plan and what you’d like your experience to be. But sometimes, things change. You may decide you want an epidural when you hadn’t planned on one, or your OB may recommend a C-section.
That doesn’t mean you’ve done anything wrong. It means we need to talk about what comes next.
I want you to ask questions. Why are we recommending this? What are the other options? What will you feel? Let us know what concerns you and what’s important to you.
As an obstetric anesthesiologist, my job is to take care of you, explain what’s happening, and help you feel comfortable. Even when your birth plan changes, you should feel heard and involved in your care.
